I've read Mick LaSalle's excellent books on Hollywood Pre-Code Cinema ([b:Complicated Women: Sex and Power in Pre-Code Hollywood|484747|Complicated Women Sex and Power in Pre-Code Hollywood|Mick LaSalle|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1356595123s/484747.jpg|551155] and [b:Dangerous Men: Pre-Code Hollywood and the Birth of the Modern Man|582814|Dangerous Men Pre-Code Hollywood and the Birth of the Modern Man|Mick LaSalle|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1311986545s/582814.jpg|569683]), years ago, so for that alone I want to read it. I always hoped he would write a book on French Cinema because I'm a fan of it, but also because I knew he had plenty to say about French Cinema's fascinating women.
